About Us
Compassionate, evidence-based care in Melbourne — a group practice grown, over a decade, around one belief: that being understood is where change begins.
Why we're here
Established in 2013, Elysium Psychology is committed to enhancing mental health and wellbeing through compassionate care and evidence-based practice. We believe early intervention, education, and access to quality psychological services are vital to building healthier communities.
Research shows that mental health literacy plays a key role in recognising, managing and preventing mental illness. We aim to:
- Enhance mental health literacy to help prevent the development of mental health issues.
- Support early recognition of symptoms and promote timely intervention.
- Increase awareness of treatment options and encourage help-seeking behaviours.
- Promote self-help strategies for managing less severe psychological concerns.
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-informed treatment to individuals and families affected by mental health challenges.

A decade of growth
- 2013–2019
Foundations & community care
Elysium Psychology began as a solo practice founded by Katy Dib, in partnership with Melbourne Affordable Psychology — a not-for-profit committed to low-cost psychological services. The focus was making quality care accessible and laying the foundation for a thriving group practice.
- 2019–2021
Adapting & expanding
We welcomed new clinicians to our Ascot Vale clinic, then adapted quickly to telehealth in 2020 to keep care accessible across Melbourne and Victoria. In response to growing demand, we opened a second location in Greensborough in November 2020.
- 2022
Purpose-built growth
We relocated from Ascot Vale to a newly designed, larger practice in Brunswick — enabling further team expansion and improved access across Melbourne’s inner north.
- 2023
Deepening connections
We continued growing our clinical team and strengthened partnerships with La Trobe, Monash and RMIT universities, offering placement opportunities and fostering academic collaboration.
- 2024
A thriving group practice
Elysium Psychology had grown to 30 psychologists and counsellors, supported by a dedicated Client Services Team — committed to ethical, inclusive and effective care for an increasingly diverse client base.
- 2025
Elysium in Schools
We expanded our Elysium in Schools program, embedding psychologists within school communities to support students, families and staff directly — reflecting our mission of accessible early intervention for young people across Victoria.
The dragonfly
The dragonfly represents transformation, self-awareness, and the power that comes from emotional and mental maturity. It reminds us that real change begins within.
Traditionally connected to water, the dragonfly’s movement across the surface symbolises looking beneath what is obvious — a call to explore the deeper layers of life and self.
With remarkable agility it can fly in any direction, hover, and change course instantly. Yet it moves with calm efficiency — flapping its wings just thirty times a minute, a striking contrast to the frantic movement of other insects. That balance of strength and control reflects wisdom, poise and maturity.
Its shimmering iridescence reveals different colours depending on the light — a metaphor for shedding illusions and seeing life from multiple perspectives, letting go of self-doubt and rediscovering our true identity with clarity and confidence.
